SATURDAY, MAY 17

There are several scales used to describe the level of response in patients with brain injury. The Ranco Scale measures levels of cognitive or mental functioning. Until today Eric’s level has been on the first which is “No response to stimulation”. We noticed the very first change today, he’s now on level two which is “Generalized response to stimulation”. I’m so happy!!! He slightly opened up his eyes when I touched him so I saw his beautiful blue eyes today. This doesn’t mean that he saw me but it’s a good step in the right direction.

Eric’s Trauma surgeon is absolute awesome. I was here this morning when he did his normal check-in. Not sure yet how Monday is looking, there are several steps Eric needs to go throe before we can “wake him up”. It’s a slow process but I’m really hoping for improvements by mid-next week. I know we need to be patient but it’s harder said then done; it’s a warm and beautiful day today, I which Eric could enjoy it with us. He has today been here for a week.

Keep all your positive thoughts going…..it’s working🙂

  1. Anna-Carin,

I’ve been thinking good thoughts every day and I know that Eric will be awake and talking soon – no one can keep the my nephew down.

  2. We have been anxiously awating more news of Eric. The latest sounds real good and it is so great to hear. If there is anything we can do for Eric or family to help out – let us know.

Good luck Eric! We love you!

  3. We heard about what happened to Eric from Val Haverfield and wanted to extend our thoughts and prayers for Eric’s full recovery. Finnegan (Beanie Boy) and Seamus (Tango Boy) have been a great support for our family through some challenging times. Having been through a similar experience I know how much support a wet nose and a Berner hug can be. We will be thinking good thoughts for your family…

Having been through a similar experience, it was surprising how much support a wet nose and a Berner hug could be. Finnegan (Beanie Boy) and Seamus (Tango Boy) were and still continue to be a huge unconditional support for us and they will help Eric too… We will be thinking positive thoughts for you and your family.

    Sincerely,
