MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 (day 127)

Today’s update comes from Eric’s friend Marty. Eric was making everyone laugh by saying funny things and his facial expressions. He got kind of irritated with the OT session, sounds as if the OT might have been was going at a slower pace than Eric is used to. Speech and physical therapy came by as well. During his PT Eric was making good corners and had a steady gate. PT had some new exercises for Eric to work on that were kinesthetics. He can do them on his own at anytime, like pressing palms together to build strength.

While outside he whispered to Marty, “this place sucks.” Then got into a funk, sad again. Marty encouraged him not to get down, Eric agreed, gave each other knuckled punches and kept working. He put his shoes on by himself a few times. During a wheelchair stroll inside, Eric rolled up to the front desk, put his elbows on the desk and said, “Home”. The staff told him, he’s not quite ready to go home. He got sad and put his head on his arms.

Marty had him say his name, birthday and today’s date. He still needs to work on his annunciation but otherwise did well in his speaking.

Eric has a check up with his neurosurgeon tomorrow, we sure hope he’s impressed with Eric’s recovery and has some good new for us.

I know Eric, Singha and Cooper will be VERY happy to see Anna-Carin tonight and tomorrow. Welcome home ACD, we hope you were able to get some good R&R. ;>

  1. This message is for Eric or anyone else that can gain something from it:

I would like to say a few things.
This point in your life is something you will reflect upon for years to come and possibly a lifetime. God pressed the Reset/pause button on your life, and theres nothing anyone can do about it, but have patience. But there are going to be many things you take from this experience. However focusing too much energy on the bad will only lead to a downward spiral. You should use the bad parts as a learning tool if anything. Life is too short to focus on the bad things in life. We only have a limited time on this planet so, the best thing that can come from this is an enlightment as to the importance of friends and family. They’re there when you need them the most, and always willing to lend a helping hand. They are always willing to give a hug when needed.
They are there to pick you up when you fall, and they are there to comfort you when needed. They are always there to listen to your thoughts. But whats really important is letting those close to you know, that you really do love them. One of the most important things in life is to never take your friends or family for granted. As a matter of fact, don’t take anything for granted. Call me nostolgic, but in life you can’t thrive without your loved ones.
