January 30 – Eric’s first TV appearance –

  1. Anna,
On December 19th, 2007, my next door neighbor, John Yencopal, was driving on Hwy 101 during the bad storm when a tree branch broke off and fell into the highway, right in front of John. He swerved to miss it and went over a 50 cliff, hitting several trees on the way down. The last one stopped him from going over a huge cliff. It took the jaws of life to get him out of the car. He suffered massive brain injuries and was in the hospital for 5 months before being allowed to come home. After months of therapy, he can sit unassisted for brief moments, but has short term memory loss-luckily his personality was a calm, loving one so he hasn’t suffered bouts of rage. But those of us who love him know his life is lived in the moment, one day at a time. You and Eric are in my prayers-have faith and NEVER give up!
    Hugs to you,

  2. Ya’ll have a friend in Newberg. You’re in my prayers.

  3. Anna-Carin
I attribute my successful recovery from a TBI in large part to the support and love I got and still get, 17 years later, from my family. I know that Eric will recover as much as possible because you are there for him. There are no limits to recovery from such a devastating injury.
    You’re amazing!
    See you soon,

  4. Im alive and pissed at The guy WHO fucked up My life. Eric

  5. I very much enjoyed reading your story and your feelings beinig on the emotional roller coaster. I could totally relate to your hopes for each rehab step and your frustrations with sometimes not being able to do as much as you want or as much as the support person thinks that the injured person can do. My heart goes out to you and I hope that you have continued to improve.

  6. Hello Eric and Company,

I had very severe brain injuries on the right and left side of my head by two cocaine addicts with an aluminum baseball bat. I am not a doctor, an accountant, researched the internet and mostly by myself, I figured out how to heal my severe brain injuries naturally. I have a Word document which is a little longer than 4 pages with what I and others are doing to heal their brain injuries, plus, the document has links to many websites that can help you to decide how to approach healing the brain. I’m sorry to hear how you received your brain injury(ies), getting hit by a driver while riding your bicycle. Fortunately, my assault was caught by two cameras in a rest area in North Carolina and made national news several times. There was some justice in my case. I would love to e-mail this Word document directly. If you are interested in receiving this document with valuable information, please contact me at and I will send it.
